Topic: What Is the Gospel About? – by Pastor Raphael

*MIND OF GOD (MOG)*

Text: John 1:29-31

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.” John 1:29–31 (KJV)

The gospel is simply good news about God’s love for human beings. He didn’t forsake human beings because of Adamic sin but sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for the penalty of sin by shedding His blood on the cross of Calvary.

The penalty of sin is death and condemnation in hell, but Jesus paid the price for the salvation of all human beings. The only thing we need to do to actualize salvation is to personally believe in Jesus Christ for paying the price for us and to accept Him into our lives as Lord and personal Savior (Romans 10:9–10).

Jesus Christ is the center of the gospel, without whom there would be no salvation. John the Baptist was always quick to give Jesus the glory and let the whole world know that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

Dear beloved, the gospel is about God’s love expressed in Jesus Christ, so draw attention to Jesus Christ. Never take the glory or draw attention to yourself in the course of preaching or sharing the good news. Let them know that they need Jesus Christ in order to be regarded as children of God, qualifying them to fellowship with God and to enter into the rest of God in heaven. Hallelujah!

Memory Verse

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect” (Genesis 17:1).

Dearly Beloved

Good morning everyone. Blessed Sunday.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).

Jesus Christ is our perfect gift from God and is an example of a perfect man who ever lived. Let’s emulate Him. Whenever you are challenged, remember Jesus.

How would Jesus react in such situation?

Perfection is an individual responsibility.

When God called Abraham, he was directed to pay attention to details and be perfect. Abraham walked perfectly with God ( Genesis 17:1), our memory verse, so we too can walk with God in perfection.

In Christ Jesus, our God is perfect and He expects His children to walk with Him in perfection. Many Christians are unable to pay attention to details. They treat mistakes and errors lightly. A single mistake may be bad enough to end a person’s life prematurely. The truth is that no man can be perfect by his own strength or works but by the grace of God though the Holy Spirit of God. The grace of God that came in the person of JESUS ( John 1:17). Jesus is our example of perfect gift from God.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” ( James 1:17).

In Christ Jesus our God does not compromise on perfection. Jesus commanded all His children to be perfect, saying:

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” ( Matthew 5:48)

As you study the word of God, please learn to pay attention to details and be diligent. All the blessings of Deuteronomy 28:1-14, requires diligence and perfection. A single error could deprive you of God’s blessings.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Stay connected to JESUS, the Word of God.

Be knowledgeable. Be wise. Be enlightened.

Connect, Change, and live (CCL).

Be Honest, Sincere Kind and Compassionate in your relationship with man and God.

“Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” ( Ephesians 6:24).

Prayer Points

Dear Father, we pray for everyone sincerely connected to your Word, that they may experience perfection through your word and that men may see their good works in Christ Jesus and glorify your holy name, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Thank you Father, for Jesus our perfect gift from God.

Topic: It Pays to Live a Righteous Life! – by Pastor Raphael

*MIND OF GOD (MOG)*

Text: Psalm 18:20–21

“The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.” Psalm 18:20–21 (KJV)

Living a righteous life is the desire of God for His children. Righteousness is the nature of God, and it is the identity of the true children of God. In other words, it is easy to identify the true children of God through their lifestyles. Living a righteous life is not easy; it is a sacrifice unto God (Psalm 4:5).

No wonder God has a great reward for the righteous. It is evident in the opening scripture that when we are obedient to the LORD and live a life that is pleasing to Him, He rewards us.

Dear beloved, choose righteousness over wickedness, for there is no peace for the wicked. God is angry at the wicked every day and will punish them in the end (Psalm 7:11).

As a child of God, you are His righteousness, so you shouldn’t struggle to live a righteous life. The Holy Spirit is available to help you; get to know Him and fellowship with Him through the Word of God, and He will lead you in the path of righteousness. Hallelujah!
