Walking in the Truth-by Rev Akpan.

WALKING IN THE TRUTH

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth” (3John 4)

Beloved, Goodness and Mercy!

The will of God and His greatest desire is to see His children walking in the truth and not in deception. It gives Him joy to see us live a life of the knowledge of the truth. That way we’ll stand our ground against any form of misleading from the devil or his agents, and thereby fully represent Him wherever and in whatever circumstance we find ourselves.

To walk in the truth, we must basically know the truth in the first place. It is when people don’t know what is right that they embrace what is wrong – ignorantly. That is because they cannot differentiate between the two. Jesus Christ explicitly stated:
“And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). In another place, He says “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life (John 14:6).

So automatically, knowing the Truth is knowing Jesus, and vice versa. And when one knows Him (the truth), he or she is supposed to be free from deception, from lies, and deceits. But how comes a lot of people claim to know Him, and yet are easily deceived?

It’s interesting to know that knowing Jesus goes beyond accepting Him as Lord and Savior or believing Him to be the Son of God. The real knowing of Jesus that can make one free is knowing the word of God as Jesus Himself is the word. “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God… and the word became flesh and lived amongst us” (John 1:1,14).

But how many today in our busy, fast moving world know the word by spending time with Him (the word)?, which accounts for why they claim to know Him, but don’t know Him in reality.

To walk in the truth, to be free from deceit demands maturity in the word. According to Apostle Paul,
“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in deceitful scheming” (Ephesians 4:14).

To walk in the truth, Apostle Paul again admonishes:
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ” (Colossians 2:6-8).

Mark that phrase “rooted and built up” That is the key to walking in the truth. If we’re not rooted and built up in Him, we’ll find it difficult to walk in the truth.

May we get to know the truth (Jesus) via spending ample time with the word, thereby being mature to distinguish between the truth and the deception that is in the world. That’s when we’ll be able to walk in the truth – and bring Him joy. That is His will and desire for us.

Blessings!

Word for Today: Control your thoughts.

Jesus is Lord ( Phil 2:11).

Thank you Jesus.

Good morning brethren.

Today as always, we bless the LORD at all times (Psalm 34:1).

Please, be sensitive to your thoughts.

Your personality is basically controlled by your predominant thoughts. Do everything possible to keep your thoughts positive.

We leave you with these words from apostle Paul:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”( Philippians 4:8).

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all ( Phil 4:23).

We plead the blood of Jesus.

Thank you Jesus.

Topic: God Needs Your Total Devotion! – by Pastor Raphael
Text: Deuteronomy 6:4-5

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (KJV)

One of the names of God is Jealous (Exodus 34:14). Due to His jealous character, He doesn’t want to share the fellowship of His children with another god. He wants our undivided attention and total devotion to Him alone. What He requires from us is written in the opening scripture: our heart, soul, and might (body).

He doesn’t just want some of them but all of them. When Jesus Christ came on the scene, He confirmed the opening scripture as the greatest of all the commandments (Matthew 22:37–38).

Dear beloved, don’t allow the pressures of this world or anything else to take your full devotion away from the LORD. It is easy for money, power, fame, and sin to steal your heart and undivided devotion to the Lord.

Make time to meditate on the Word of God day and night, fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and involve yourself in the work of God, and you will remain totally devoted to the LORD. Hallelujah!

Be an overcomer!
