Word for Today

The Word (31)-the Word of God is Creative.

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” (Col 1:16).

Beloved

Everything you can ever imagine, visible and invisible, on earth, underneath the earth and in heaven, was created by the Word of God and for the Word of God. Hallelujah! Without the Word of God, nothing existed. In Him, all things consist.

This insight into the Word of God should be your true source of joy. If there is any lack in your life, faithfully ask the supernatural Creator to create one for you. He is the only one with the capacity to create something out of nothing.
Embrace the Word of God from today and begin to enjoy abundance of blessing.
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3).

Receive the grace to embrace the divine creator of heaven and earth in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

CAN GOD BRAG ABOUT YOU?-by Rev A AKPAN

“Then the Lord said to Satan, ‘have you considered my servant Job? There is none on earth like him, he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil'” (Job 2:3).
Someone said “It is not our impression about ourselves that really matters, but God’s impression about us”. In other words, it’s not what we think of ourselves or how we see ourselves but what God thinks of us that is important to Him. Most people who claim to have a relationship with God need to ask themselves an honest and soul-searching question “can God brag about me?
This is necessary because if we are true children of His, He should be able to brag about us before Satan any day, anytime. God wants to be proud of us resulting from our conducts and character. It gives Him joy to see us live a life that brings Him glory, a life of no compromise, a life that makes people say good things about Him, not the reverse. God derives great pleasure when our lives attract others (the unsaved) to Him. That of course is great service to Him. Jesus says in Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven”. (NIV)
That is it! God expects our lives to shine before men. It should be a light that attracts people to Him. Earlier in verse 14, He said that we’re the light of the world, and a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.
Recently I watched on television how a family brought their little son for a thanksgiving in the Church. The boy hung three medals on his neck that he won in his school. One was for the best prize for English and Mathematics, another for overall best result, and another for something else. You could see the joy expressed by the parents and the siblings while they were giving the testimony. That’s exactly what happens when we make God proud through our good deeds and glorious living.
In the book of Job chapter 2 verse 3, we see how God bragged about Job before Satan. God described him as being blameless and upright, a man who fears God, and shuns evil. Not only that, God says that he maintained INTEGRITY even when he (Satan) incited God against him to ruin him without cause. Wow! Job maintained integrity despite adversity. He was tested and proven.
Like Job, God wants to be able to brag about you and I. Somebody may be quick to answer me in his or her heart that we cannot live a blameless life in a sin-investd world, just as a fish cannot live in the water without being wet. That is the devil’s consolation. He is a liar and the father of all lies. (John 8:44). Job was blameless. God says so. He was an upright person, a man that fears God, and abhors evil. That is God’s testimony about him. Can He say the same about us? Can He brag about us?
Let’s not allow the devil to deceive us. Let’s refuse to buy his lies that we cannot be what God wants us to be, because we can if we really want to. The Bible says that “for with God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27). Apostle Paul, in one of my favorite scriptures says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. (Philippians 4:13). Let’s believe it, and confess it, too, and give God cause to brag about us.

The Word (30)-the Word of God is powerful.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (30)-the Word of God is powerful.

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power”

(1Corinthians 4:20)

Beloved

The word of God is loaded with power. Without, the power element, Christianity is a mere religion. Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God is the power of God and the wisdom of God (1Corinthians 1:24).

Your word is nothing but a prophecy. When you speak does your word come to pass? The bible says where the word of the king is, there is power (Eccl 8:4). Some preachers sometimes preach as if their congregations are deaf. Many speak their own words instead of speaking the word of God. The word of man is limited, but the word of the living God knows no boundaries.
Speak the word only and miracles will happen. Who is he that speaketh, and it’s comes to pass if the Lord has not commanded it ( Lam 3:37).
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

Receive the grace to speak the word of God in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (29)-Activate your FAITH with the word of God.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (29)-Activate your FAITH with the word of God.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Beloved

If you want to build up your faith increasingly, you have to constantly expose your mind to the word of God. The word of God is the word of faith. Faith simply means agreeing with what God has said, and obeying Him to prove that you believe Him. Abraham believed God when he was ready to offer his son Isaac for sacrifice. This was counted to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3).
Without the word of God, there is doubt and unbelief. Many people have missed their blessings and miracles because of doubt and unbelief. In life things happen to you according to the measure of your faith. The Word tells us this much:
“Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29)

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” ( Heb 11:6).
Receive the grace to activate your faith in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word(28)-Stay with the LIGHT in the Word.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (28)-Stay with the LIGHT in the Word.

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5).

Beloved

Spiritually speaking, Jesus is the light of this world. Without Jesus, this world is in utter darkness, and things fall apart. There are many people , even in the church, who are groping in the dark, not knowing that light had departed from them.
In darkness, there is stagnation, frustration, failure, ‘go slow’, grumbling, mistake, error and eventually death.
Choose light and live: “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4).

Receive the grace to embrace the light of the world in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

It is Time for Self-Examination!

MOW-True Spirituality

Ministry of the Word (MOW)

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Theme: It is Time for Self -Examination!

Memory Verse: ‘Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves…’ (2 Cor 13:5).

Beloved

Without sincere and honest relationship with God in Christ Jesus, it’s difficult for the grace and blessings of God to flow in our lives. The new thing the Lord is doing in your life requires sincere, honest self-examination.

Apostle Paul admonishes us : ‘Examine Yourselves to see if you are in the faith…’ (2Cor 13:5).

God is a wise builder. We are co-labourers with Him. He is looking for diligent and sincere workers to work with Him. The Word says: “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building” (1Cor 3:9). What materials are you allowing God to build you with? Remember that the moment you are born again, you become the son of God in Christ Jesus by grace alone . You are born again of incorruptible word of God: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Pet 1:23).

In the beginning the devil purpose of visiting is to steal, destroy, and kill. The devil is a cony person and a master destroyer (John 10:10). Often times, he uses very indirect approaches like enticement, deceit, seduction, manipulation , blackmail etc, make the person to act contrary to the will of God. Many in the body of Christ today are under the bondage of the devil due to spiritual ignorance but they do not know it. Many are in captivity of fear, worries, laziness, coldness, grumbling, complaining, unforgiveness, talkativeness etc.
We pray that every plant that our heavenly Father has not planted in your body, soul and spirit shall be rooted up in Jesus Mighty Name (Matt 15:13). Amen.

Do you have unresolved anger or hatred towards anyone? You might call it righteous anger. Do you have unresolved bitterness against anyone? What about envy? What about pride? What about indiscipline or lack of self-control? Yours may not be any of these. Oh, what about laziness? What about procrastination? What about miserliness? What of fear? What about doubt ? What about frequent errors or mistakes in what you do? What of occasional little lies? What about lack of zeal or passion for the word of God? What about oversleeping? What about eating too much? Songs of Solomon 2:15 talks of ‘the little foxes that spoil the vines’. Be open, honest, sincere and transparent with yourself in analysis of your thoughts and feelings.

If only you allow Him, God is working through you in a way that will amaze even yourself. We stand on the word of God that declares: “Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously:for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you” (Hab 1:5).

Be transparent in your thoughts, words and actions. The kingdom of God is glorious light with no trace of darkness. Henceforth, may no evil force operate in your body, soul and spirit in Jesus Name. Amen.

Grace & peace be multiplied to in Jesus name. Amen. Have a blessed week.

To have increasing spiritual knowledge, requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: Train yourself to be godly(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV). Please, key into the Word of God Ministry.

Have a Spirit-filled week and for the rest of the year.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). However, the first thing you must desire greatly is total spiritual freedom through the truth in the word of God ( John 8:32, 36). Thereafter, ask God for sanctification by the truth in His word ( John 17:17).

Prayer: There is someone reading this message, receive the grace to to be sincere and transparent in your self examination using the light in the word of God inJesus mighty name. Amen

LIVE YOUR CONVICTION-by Rev A AKPAN.

“What shall I do then with Jesus called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered “crucify him”. (Matt. 27:22)
We live in a world where everything we do tend to be influenced by the societal norms. The propensity to dance to the tune of the society seems to be so compelling, thus suppressing our conviction from acting according to our will. The pressure of what people will say, how people will react to our actions constrains us from exercising our sense of independence in making certain decisions in life.
In the above Scripture quotation, we see how after Pilate examined Jesus and found Him guiltless and innocent of the accusation brought against Him was convinced that he didn’t deserve to die. But for fear of how the people who pressed for his crucifixion will react if he freed Him asked for their opinion of what to do with Jesus.
The response he got was an overwhelming chorus answer of “crucify him”. In verse 23 he asked again “Why”? What crime has he committed?. Still they shouted all the louder “crucify him”. With that, Pilate had no choice but to wash off his hand, and released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus to be crucified. What a pity! Pilate reserved the right to have exercised his authority in freeing Jesus having been convinced of His innocency. But he declined as a result of fear of the reaction of the people.
Jesus opened the eye of a certain man who was born blind, when his parents were questioned about the miracle, they refused to say that it was Jesus that opened his eyes even though they knew it. The Bible says that their refusal to mention Jesus as the one that gave sight to their son was because the Jews had already decided to excommunicate anyone who acknowledge Jesus as the Christ from the Synagogue. (John 9:22).
They were afraid of the Jews – that is the problem. This is the reason people don’t live their conviction – the fear what people will say. Dr. Myles Munroe says that the opposite of conviction is compromise. That’s accurately true. When people don’t live their conviction, they end up compromising.
I personally have met with people in the course of door to door evangelism who after being convicted in their spirit of the need to accept Jesus as their Savior will give one excuse or the other not to. I remember vividly a particular man in his late thirties I preached to, he listened keenly to the gospel, and I sensed that he was deeply touched by the message. But when I asked if he will accept Jesus as his Lord and personal Savior, he told me that his parents are practicing Muslims so he will not abandon the religion he was born into.
Many people are convinced of certain right thing they’re supposed to do, but because of external influence or pressure, they rather choose to betray their conscience and please the public (Close associates, friends, family members, relatives, colleagues etc).
Is there any lofty thing God has impressed upon your heart to do? Go ahead ahead and obey Him. God rewards complete obedience.
This is wrong. God hates it. He wants people to be themselves, to be free from societal pressure. God sent king Saul to go and totally destroy the Amalekites, and not spare anything. But he went and capture their king alive, and also brought back some good looking animals, according to him to sacrifice to the Lord. That got him into trouble with God because he did not fully obey Him. (This story is found in 1Samuel 15:1-22). Pay particular attention to verses 20,21. It is most likely that the people he went to war with influenced his inability to obey God’s explicit instruction.
Let’s live our conviction, and not allow others dictate to us or influence us to act against our conviction. Our Lord Jesus Christ lived His conviction. He knew He was in the world to die for sinners and purchase salvation for them. So even when His close disciple, Peter attempted to talk Him out of it, He rebuked him. (Matt. 16:21-23).
