The Word (50)-Nothing can ever destroy the Word.

Word for Today

The Word (50)-Nothing can ever destroy the Word.

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

Beloved

The Word of God is the source of true power. Nothing can ever destroy the Word. The Word of God, Jesus Christ is the head of the church. He assured all true believers that the church can never be destroyed; that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.
Please, note that the church the bible is talking about here is not a physical building, rather those hearts that have been filled and saturated with the truth. The bible says:

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
The Word of God is the truth (John 14:6). Nothing can ever destroy the truth.
Beloved, hold unto the truth in the word of God, and you can never be destroyed. Hold unto the truth in the word of God and you shall be sanctified. Hold unto the truth in the word of God and you shall never die. Hold unto the truth in the Word and you shall live even when you die:
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).

PRAYER

Father, please, give me the grace to defend the truth in your word at all times in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (49)-Have you found the Word?

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (49)-Have you found the Word?

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it ” (Matthew 13:45-46).

Beloved

Am often amazed that people who claim to love Jesus Christ, the Word of God, do not often have time for Him. If truly you have found Him and you understand His value, you would consider all other things as nothing in accordance with the experience of apostle Paul.
Someone has said many people in the body of Christ, are merely befriending Jesus, they have not yet fallen in love with Him. Perhaps, this is true. How often do you spend time with the Word in 24 hours? I do not mean in the religious sense. How often do you eat the word of God? (Jeremiah 15:16). How often do you share Jesus Christ with others in 24 hours? Out of 7 days in a week, how often do you share the truth in the Word with others?

Jesus Himself taught us many parables such as above, to explain the value of the word of God and the kingdom of God. Apostle Paul considered everything else as nothing after he found the Word. Hear him:
“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ” ( Philippians 3:7-8).

Please, wake up!

PRAYER

Father, please, give me the grace to value the Word above every other thing in my life in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (48)-the word of God is your SWORD.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today
The Word (48)-the word of God is your SWORD.

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17)

Beloved

The word of God is your spiritual sword with which you wage war. Imagine yourself being at war front in the physical sense without your sword or any weapon. Some Christians behave as if they have fulfilled all righteousness, once they ‘go to church’ with a big bible in their hands.
Many Christians lack the understanding that Christianity is a spiritual warfare. We are at war. It is a war between light & darkness. It is a battle between faith and doubt. It is a fight between good & evil. It is a battle between truth & lies. It is a battle between good health and sickness. It is a battle between coldness and hotness. It is a battle between knowledge and ignorance. It is a fight between justice & injustice. To be a winner in these battles of life, you need to learn increasing spiritual understanding. You need to put on your full armour of God (Ephesians 6:11). Lack of humility has deprived many from learning, partly due to the simplicity of the gospel.
Apostle Paul admonished his spiritual son, Timothy:
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1Timothy 6:12).
My prayer is that before you complete your sojourn on earth, you will be able to say as Apostle Paul: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…” (2Timothy 4:7-8).

PRAYER

Father, please, give me the grace to be a winner in the battles of life in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (47)-the word of God is for ever settled.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (47)-the word of God is for ever settled.

“For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).

Beloved

Trust in the integrity of the word, and you find out that no matter your circumstances, all things will work together for your good at the end.
Everything written in the word of God is true. Unfortunately, some people only obey the word of God selectively, both within the church and outside the church. Selective obedience is dangerous. Every word of God is true. Every word of God is pure.
God is not a man that He would lie. God can never deny Himself. The scriptures cannot be broken. Your responsibility is to trust the Word of God completely:
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him” (Proverbs 30:5).

PRAYER

Father, please help me to trust in the integrity of your word no matter my circumstances in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

What is True Worship According to the Bible?-by Bro Damola.

Ministry of the word (MOW)
THEME: What is True Worship According to the Bible?
Worshiping both in Spirit and Truth
SCRIPTURE:

The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4:23-24
In John 4:23-24, Jesus spoke about worship with the Samaritan woman. Let’s try to understand what true worship is according to the Bible, and how you can apply it to your own relationship with God:
1. True worship requires our spirit.
“. . . true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit . . .” Does this mean our spirit, or God’s Holy Spirit? Actually, it’s both! Worship is meant to include our whole self. This is why the Lord commanded Israel in Deuteronomy 6:5, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Both publicly and privately, we must not just go through the motions of worship, but be fully involved with our heart and soul – our inner selves.
2. True worship requires to worship in the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 5:19-20 tells us, “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.” When we are filled with God’s Spirit, a natural result is heartfelt worship – singing to God, and talking about Him to others.
3. We need to worship in Truth.
What is the truth? A better question is, who is the truth? The answer is Jesus: “Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)
Jesus also said, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32). The more we know Jesus, who is the truth, the more we will be able to worship in truth. We get to know Jesus through prayer (we talk to Him) and His word (He speaks to us).
When you worship God in a church or anywhere else, ask the Lord to help you “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth” (Colossians 3:2). He will help you to worship him with your whole heart, and not just go through the motions. The Lord will be glorified, and your faith will grow, and others will hear about Him.
Prayer
Father, Please help me understand how to worship You in spirit and in truth.

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Theme: Be conscious of your oneness with God in Christ.

Memory Verse: “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psalm 82:6)

Beloved

In this new month of total recovery the Lord wants you to recover everything the enemy has stolen from you. However, it is your responsibility to be spiritually alert.

The enemy (devil) often defeat many Christians at the level of their thoughts. The book of Proverb says: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). Man is the sum total of his thoughts, perceptions, imaginations, beliefs, speech and confessions. There is an irreversible link between what we think, imagine, perceive, believe and our speech, actions as well as how we behave. The Holy Spirit of God is the vital link between God and man. The inspiration of the Almighty gives the spirit of man the required understanding (Job 32:8).

In the beginning, God created man in his image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27), to function like in Him in thoughts, words and actions. Of all his creation, man was the only creature that God extended his divine nature to, out of love. God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). However, this divine nature was lost when the first man Adam, sinned by disobeying God and yielding to the temptation of the devil. Thanks be to God for Jesus Christ , who has endeavoured all true believers to regain this divine nature, by shedding his precious blood, at the cross. The Scripture says: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). Hence, our sonship of God is only in Christ Jesus by grace, and it is a gift from God through a divine empowerment, “Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:9).

Unfortunately, many people in the Church lack understanding of their divine nature, and their position in Christ Jesus. As a son of God, according to our memory verse, God expects you to Think, Speak, and Act like Him. The Holy Spirit speaks to direct and guide you on the path of life. Within the body of Christ, (the church), it is amazing how often believers speak without paying attention to the quality of the words that come out of their mouth. Many at times when these errors in speech are pointed out to the person, you may get response such as: ‘I was just joking’. Unfortunately, there are no jokes in the spirit realm! What words do you speak in times of trials, temptation, challenges? The Word says: “As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” (Num 14:28). Jesus himself says: ” the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”(John 6:63).

The words we speak out of our mouth are very powerful indeed. They are messages we send out to the angelic world. Even when we cancel it, it is not exactly the same thing as if we never uttered it. The bible is full of examples. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).The same Proverbs says: “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth” (Proverbs 6:2). Apostle Paul admonished us: “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man” (Col 4:6).

If we fill our minds, hearts, spirits, and inner beings with the words of God, this will be reflected in what we say and how we behave. The words of God are reflection of the thoughts of God. God has the best thoughts for man: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).

It’s your responsibility to align your thoughts with the wisdom of God in His word if you are born again. We are to take every contrary thought captive ” to the obedience of Christ”(2Cor 10:5). Be open, honest and sincere with yourself. You can deceive others some of the time, but you can never deceive yourself .

Be transparent in your thoughts, words and actions. The kingdom of God is glorious light with no trace of darkness. Henceforth, may no evil force operate in your body, soul and spirit in Jesus Name. Amen.

Have a Spirit-filled week and for the rest of the year.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). However, the first thing you must desire greatly is total spiritual freedom through the truth in the word of God ( John 8:32, 36). Thereafter, ask God for sanctification by the truth in His word ( John 17:17).

Prayer:

Father, give me the grace to retrain my thoughts, words and deeds to align with the word of God in Christ, in Jesus mighty name.

 Amen.

Leaders: Depending on God-by Bro Ewaen Ekhator

28 May16
MOW

Theme: Leaders: Depending on God.
Memory Verse:

“But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Corinthians 1:18-20).
Beloved,

Our God is so Supreme that any one that trusts fully in Him can never be disappointed because He will always direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Over 2 million Israelites were led out of Egypt by Moses and that was a huge leadership responsibility. He (Moses) began as a reluctant leader and didn’t even believe he had the skills or abilities to lead the people of Israel on such an important journey (Exodus 3:11; Exodus 4:16). But God promised to be with Moses, and to provide the help he needed to fulfill God’s great assignment for him.
God Shapes Us

God will often put people into places of responsibility before they feel ready or able. Perhaps you have already been thrust into a leadership position where you are facing frustration or even failure. If so, take heart!

God’s shaping process includes giving us responsibilities outside our comfort zone. God uses such times to teach us important lessons. These situations grow our faith, expand our abilities and increase our trust in God. In such times, we learn to depend more upon God (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The Lord encouraged Moses by assuring him that his fears and weaknesses could be overcome by God’s help and power. Moses – like every one of us – also needed teaching, shaping and help from others. He needed to develop his abilities. Most importantly, he needed a far deeper dependency upon God and His power of wisdom than ever before.
God is Able

God does not choose His servants based upon their cleverness, talent or wisdom. If you are worried that you do not have the skills to fulfill God’s assignment for you, that is actually a good thing.

Apostle Paul in his letter to the Corinthians said “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence” (1 Corinthians 1:26-29).

Apostle Paul spent three years in the desert of Arabia separating himself from his own fleshly gains – his vast education, his zeal, his devout Hebrew heritage, his obedience to the law – in order to truly gain Christ. “Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus” (Galatians 1:17). “Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ” (Philippians 3:4-8).

Paul understood that in his own power or wisdom, he could accomplish nothing eternal. “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).
A wise servant of God recognizes that it takes more than his personal ability or experience to qualify him for the work of ministry. It is only through God’s ability – God’s calling, power, gifts, wisdom, and anointing – that one will truly be fruitful in ministry.

God looks for those who are loyal to Him and completely His and then HE does mighty works through them (2 Chronicles 16:9). The traits that will make one a vessel fit for the Master’s use are: his heart, his character, his willingness to depend fully on God and obey Him.
I pray that God will give us the grace to depend fully on Him in Jesus Name, Amen.
