Word for Today: Be conscious of your spirit being.

Ministry of the Word (MOW):
True Spirituality (TS).

Improving our Spiritual Understanding.

Memory Verse:
“But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding” ( Job 32:8).

Dearly Beloved

Greetings to everyone, especially to the great family of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

There is a spirit in man. Unfortunately, not everyone is aware of their spirit being. The natural man does not understand the things of the spirit. It is the spirit that guarantees life. The flesh profits nothing. Indeed, the flesh is contrary to the spirit. The inspiration of God, called spiritual empowerment or anointing, gives man understanding . Without anointing and understanding of the realm of the supernatural, as well as keying into the ministry of the Holy Spirit, Christianity becomes a mere ritual and an empty religious movement.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself needed empowerment of the Holy Spirit to run a flourishing ministry on earth. The word of God reminds us of:

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”(Acts 10:38).

Jesus promised all true believers this same empowerment in the same book of Acts, when he declared:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

This promise was followed by the assurance that believers so empowered will do greater works on earth. Jesus declared:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12).

Once a person has accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour, he is empowered by the Holy Spirit to become a son of God ( John 1:11-12) and is seated with Christ on the right hand side of the Father, above all principalities and powers. By this virtue, he is superior to the devil and is untouchable. This understanding is very important. The only reason we are able to challenge the devil is because we are sons of God. We are joint heirs with Christ in God ((Romans 8:16-17).

A life of daily signs and wonders are the heritage of all true believers, if only we can key into the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself promised us:

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” ( Mark 16:17-18).

If you truly believe in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, you are for signs and wonders. All you are required to do is work and walk with the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul declared:

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Gal 5:16).

Without our spirit man coming alive, a Christian remains powerless:
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life ( John 6:63).

Word for Today: Perfect gift comes from God.

Word for Today: Perfect gift comes from God.

Ministry Of the Word(MOW) : True Spirituality (TS)

Memory Verse
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” ( James 1:17).

Dearly Beloved

We salute everyone, especially the family of our great God. Thank you Jesus for the peaceful election in Nigeria.

Jesus Christ is our perfect gift from God and is an example of a perfect man who ever lived. Let’s emulate Him. Whenever you are challenged, remember Jesus. How would Jesus react in such situation? Perfection is an individual responsibility.

Our ancestral father Abraham walked perfectly with God ( Genesis 17:1), so we too can walk with God in perfection.

In Christ Jesus, our God is perfect and He expects His children to walk with Him in perfection. Many Christians are unable to pay attention to details. They treat mistakes and errors lightly. A single mistake may be bad enough to end a person’s life prematurely. The truth is that no man can be perfect by his own strength or works but by the grace of God though the Holy Spirit of God. When God called Abraham, he was directed to pay attention to details and be perfect:

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect” (Genesis 17:1).

In Christ Jesus our God does not compromise on perfection. Jesus commanded all His children to be perfect, saying:

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” ( Matthew 5:48)

As you study the word of God, please learn to pay attention to details and be diligent. All the blessings of Deuteronomy 28:1-14, requires diligence and perfection. A single error could deprive you of God’s blessings.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Word for Today: Let the word of God transform you.

Word for Today: Let the word of God transform you.

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality (TS)

Memory Verse:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Rm 12: 2).

Dearly Beloved
Greetings to everyone in the name of the Lord, especially the family of our Father.

As we study and meditate on the word of God, the Word has the capacity to transform us. God is eager to transform us to the image of his first born Son, Jesus Christ. The Scripture says:
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Rm 8:29).

Brethren, no one can become the son of God by his own strength. We are empowered by the Holy Ghost. The only thing required of us is faith in the Word. The Scripture says:
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).

Jesus Christ, himself enables us to know that  no one can receive him (ie believe him or have faith in him), unless his Father draws that person:
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44).

My beloved brethren, our memory verse above assure us that the word of God is capable of transforming us to the image of Christ by renewing our mind. God does not want us to conform to the pattern and principles of this world.

The plan of God in our lives is to transform us to the image and likeness of his first born Son, Jesus Christ. Hence brother Paul says:
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God” (Rm 8:19).

In the course of my practice as a psychiatrist, I have seen very many people go through unnecessary torment, bondage, oppressions, diseases, sickness, fear etc. The word of Proverbs says it is not good for the soul to be without knowledge: Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth (Prov 19:2).

The Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus, is the most powerful spirit in heaven, earth, and underneath the earth. Having the understanding and willingly surrendering our human spirit to the Lordship of the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus guarantees us joy, peace, harmony, divine health, and freedom indeed(John 8:36). This is the truth of the gospel. It is not merely about regularly ”going to Church” in the superficial sense, though fellowship is good. It is about allowing yourself to be transformed personally, by the power in the word of God.

Stay connected with Jesus, the Word; the wisdom and power of God; the Spirit of God.

Prayer points
Father, we ask for your grace of transformation as we study your word in Jesus name. Amen
