Dearly Beloved

If there is one thing every one of us should desire earnestly, it’s sanctification. Without being sanctified, the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in us. Let’s cry to God in Christ for sanctification this season . Many people are born again but they are still carnal. The Holy Spirit cannot dwell in bodies that are NOT sanctified as the Holy Spirit is completely pure.

The word of God sanctifies. The more of the word of God you sincerely have in your heart and in your spirit, the more sanctified you are. To be sanctified simply means to be thoroughly washed, cleaned up, be purified, be refined, be consecrated , set apart and declared holy. Only the truth in the word of God can truly sanctify a man.

We are serving a perfect God. There is no imperfections or blemishes with Him. We need to cleave to Him in total obedience to His words in order to understand His divine nature. As sons, we are a partaker of His divine nature . Do not remain in ignorance of this truth.

We join apostle Paul in praying for sanctification in the church.

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23).

Say no to spiritual ignorance

In What Ways are you a New Creature?

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”(2Corinthian 5:17).

Dearly Beloved

A few Christians have told me that merely quoting the word of God or pages of the Bible is not enough. My response is usually in the affirmative. However, if a person allows the words of God to dwell in his heart/ spirit, it will flow out effortlessly when he opens his mouth because ” … out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” ( Matthew 12:34).

When we read the word of God and share it with others, do we apply the word of God to ourselves? Many of us have accepted Jesus Christ for many years, but are you really a new creature? Have you been able to stop those die hard habits? For example , can you list 5 major changes in your life since you became a Christian? For instance , I used to enjoy occasional social drinking of alcoholic wine or drink until the Lord spoke to me clearly through an incident in November 2007. No preacher preached to me to stop. Similarly, after my ex-wife left me suddenly in July 2008, being human, very occasionally, I used to satisfy my sexual urge through masturbation, until the good Lord spoke to me very loudly in July 2012 through an incident. You can imagine my shock some months later , when a popular television pastor explained to his audience sometime in 2013 that masturbation ‘is not a sin’. I could also recall a ‘born again’ Christian arguing with me in 2012 that Jesus Christ did approve of drinking alcoholic wine or drink and that Jesus himself regularly consumed ‘strong alcoholic drink ‘. My response to him was that he was ‘blaspheming ‘ and he didn’t like it, hence our friendship ended.

I could count situations in my life where the Lord spoke to me through incidents, to drop certain old habits, which on the surface, may not be seen by many as ‘sin’. No preacher was ever involved in the different incidents that the Lord used to shape me. You might have accepted Jesus Christ for many years, in what ways are you a NEW CREATURE? Do you still old on to your old habits? Can you count 5 major habits that you have dropped as a result of giving your life to Christ? Many Christians get angry at the slightest thing and don’t see anything wrong.

Every word of God is to be applied to ourselves. God is making all things new for us. Desire a new life in Christ Jesus. Be transformed:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).

Make God Your Priority.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Dearly Beloved

Life is about prioritising. Make God and the word of God your number one priority and you will see God at work in your life. What is it that occupies most of your time. What is constantly in your thoughts and mind. Seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and everything you need in life shall be added to you.

How can you claim to love God in Christ Jesus and yet you are not fond of him? Even in the human sense, you want to spend time with someone you truly love.

Promoting Jesus , spending time with him, telling others about Jesus is a must for every true believer. It’s NOT optional. The Word says:

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15)

Beloved, speak the word God as you go about your duties:

“And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:7-8)

Have a Spirit-filled week.

Be a follower of Goodness.

“And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?” ( 1Peter 3:13)

Dearly Beloved

There is so much evil and wickedness going on in the world today, that following goodness can be extremely difficult. Often times it seems rational or justifiable to revenge or retaliate if we have been wrongly treated, especially when it’s no fault of ours. It is divine to learn to overcome evil with goodness. No one can ever succeed in harming you if you are a follower of goodness.

Always remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ who said:

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12)

Please, never ignore to allow God to send His words to others through you:

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” ( Psalm 107:20
