Understanding True Spirituality

Theme:

Flee Fornication!

Memory Verse:

“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body”

(1Cor.6:18).

Beloved,
There are sins one should not only avoid but flee according to the Scriptures.
But, these dimensions of sin called “Fornication and Adultery” seem to be easily committed by the people of the world, and some professing to be in the body of Christ.
Some call it weakness, to some is called enjoyment, to another set of people is known as temptation.
In whatever ways it is regarded to be; the culprit is hereby admonished by the Word of God to desist from such or flee from it in order to be freed from impending penalty/ Divine Judgment.
Here is the biblical account regarding the works of the flesh:

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live”

(Rom.8: 13).
Our bodies must be put or brought under control: via the light of the Word of God.
As it is written:

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”

(Ps.119:105).
Every sin a man commits is against God. Let this be known to everyone.
Joseph in the bible is a clear and practical example:

“There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

(Gen.39:9).
There is so much great wickedness, and unfaithfulness in the world today.

But one choose to be exempted.
Carnality is destructive in disguise.
To walk with God through His Words is a choice. And to submit to the devil is also a choice: nobody should blame anybody.
Apostle Paul asserted thus:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”

“Rom.12:2).
Prayer:

Father, we know that for by strength shall no man prevail.

Please give us the grace to live above the works of the flesh, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.

Memory Verse:

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me”(Proverbs 8:17).
Beloved

Every blessing of God in His word is conditional. The blessings of Deuteronomy 28:1-14, is tied to diligent obedience to the commandments of God. If you truly love God in Christ Jesus, it will be reflected in your thoughts, words and actions. 
Get passionate with the Word. Do not be superficial with Jesus. Be ready to go the extra mile for Jesus Christ. You don’t have to necessarily follow others. There are many pretenders in the house of God today. Someone may be rate a ‘powerful preacher’ but his or her heart is far from God in Christ Jesus. Be careful of who you choose as your spiritual mentor.

Seek the Lord with all your heart, strength and spirit:
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6).
No one can successfully pretend before God. God looks at our heart, not necessarily what we say , our work or appearance:
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2Timothy 2:19)

This season, seek the LORD as you have never done before. Avoid sin by all means.

Stay blessed by the grace in the Word.
Have a Spirit- filled week

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Prayer

Dear Father, please give us the grace to love you above everything else in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:18-19)

Beloved 
This is the time for the church to arise and work together in unity. The church is not the building, though the building is very important. When the Lord who is the head of the church, first used the word church, it was with reference to the person of Peter, the rock. The true church of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the assembly of true believers , the righteous assembly of Mount Zion. Disunity within the church is one of greatest weapons the enemies use against the church, thereby allowing the weapons of the enemies to thrive. The church should be united and work in unity.
Every true born again Christian is part and parcel of the church at every point in time. This understanding is important to ensure that a Christian is not a Christian only on Sundays. Many a times, you hear people say: ‘I am going to the church’, with reference to attending church fellowship or service.

As a part of the church, you are in the church 24 hours. In reality you cannot go to yourself. The church as a whole is the body of Christ , and every believer in Christ Jesus is a tiny part of the church.

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular” (1Corinthians 12:27).

As a part of the church, you are given enormous power to bind and loose. Power to allow what you want and disallow what you don’t want. Make use of your mouth.
Don’t fold your hands and watch evil activities around you. Speak the word of God faithfully against them.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Father, thank you for making me a part of your church and for giving me so much power. Use your church powerfully to overcome evil in our societies in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting ”

(Matthew 17:21)

Beloved

We are living in end times. Am not a prophet of doom, but I can SEE that the world is slowly drifting into chaos. Please, arise in prayer and fasting.

I will keep emphasising the need for increasing prayer and fasting because of what I am seeing in the spirit realm.
We are in perilous times. The world is drifting into darkness. Arise in prayer and fasting to arrest the situation. If you are a Christian and you lack spiritual understanding, you make yourself very vulnerable . Apostle Peter warned: 

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).  
Many a times, I struggle to understand why many Christians are unable to arm themselves with the greatest weapon in this world- the word of God. Apostle Paul calls the word of God “the sword of the Spirit” (Eph 6:17). A Christian who daily wears the full armour of God (Eph 6:13-18), can never be defeated by the enemies. Praying is ineffective without the word of God.
According to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in our memory verse above, certain problems will NOT go away except through prayer and fasting. Unfortunately, many Christians find it difficult to fast on their own, unless they key into corporate fasting of their organisations. As a child of God, you cannot afford to compromise with prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting enable you to tap into the limitless power of the Holy Spirit which is freely given to every true child of God.
Without your organisation calling for fasting, with the consciousness of walking with Jesus Christ, try starting the day without food or water, at least till noon. As you go about your daily duties, speak the word of God to yourself, others, situations and call on the Holy Spirit of God to work through you in Christ Jesus. If you are sincere, you will be amazed what the Lord will do through you daily.

Prayer is communicating with God using His word. Technically speaking, prayer is ineffective without the word of God. You can pray anywhere. You can pray in your toilet, kitchen, bathroom, car, at work, not only in the ‘church’. Fasting is a spiritual sacrifice that enhances prayers and strengthen the person. Many believers erroneously believe that fasting only relates to staying away from food. For this reason, some starve themselves in the name of fasting. Please, read the attributes of True Fasting in the Book of Isaiah 58: 1-12. The Lord declare in verse 6: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? “(Isaiah 58:6).

We should not sit down and do nothing when the world is drifting into darkness.
Let us learn to pray always . Let us learn to fast always. 

Have a Spirit-filled week. Speak the word of God to one another.

Dear Father, please let your word come alive in our lives in Jesus name. Amen. Please, help us to key into the spiritual exercise of prayer and fasting in Jesus Powerful Name. Amen.
