Memory Verse:

“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting ”

(Matthew 17:21)
Beloved

Many Christians go through life worrying so much about nothing, but your Heavenly Father is given you the best counsel: “Let not your heart be troubled …”(John 14:1). Trust Jesus to be with you in every storm of life you are passing through. Repetition in my writing on prayer and fasting is a reflection of its importance to me and the Ministry of the Word.

We are in perilous times. If you are a Christian and you lack spiritual understanding, you make yourself very vulnerable . Apostle Peter warned:

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

In the last few years, I have been personally touched by the number of young Christians known to me, who became victims of the enemy’s weapons due to spiritual ignorance.

Many a times, I struggle to understand why many Christians are unable to arm themselves with the greatest weapon in this world- the word of God. Apostle Paul calls the word of God “the sword of the Spirit” (Eph 6:17). A Christian who daily wears the full armour of God (Eph 6:13-18), can never be defeated by the enemies.

According to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in our memory verse above, certain problems will NOT go away except through prayer and fasting. Unfortunately, many Christians find it difficult to fast on their own, unless they key into corporate fasting of their organisations. As a child of God, you cannot afford to compromise with prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting enable you to tap into the limitless power of the Holy Spirit which is freely given to every true child of God.

Without your organisation calling for fasting, with the consciousness of walking with Jesus, try starting the day without food or water, at least till noon. As you go about your daily duties, speak the word of God to yourself, others, situations and call on the Holy Spirit of God to work through you in Christ Jesus. If you are sincere, you will be amazed what the Lord will do through you daily.

Prayer is communicating with God using His word. Technically speaking, prayer is ineffective without the word of God. You can pray anywhere. You can pray in your toilet, kitchen, bathroom, car, at work, not only in the ‘church’. Fasting is a spiritual sacrifice that enhances prayers and strengthen the person. Many believers erroneously believe that fasting only relates to staying away from food. For this reason, some starve themselves in the name of fasting. Please, read the attributes of True Fasting in the Book of Isaiah 58: 1-12. The Lord declare in verse 6: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? “(Isaiah 58:6).

As you you can see, fasting is a spiritual exercise aim to energise the person to greater works, not merely staying without food. It enables all contrary spirits to bow to the name above every other name. Please

Have a Spirit-filled weekend. Speak the word of God to one another.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Prayer

Father, please let your word come alive in our lives in Jesus name. Amen. Please, help us to key into the spiritual exercise of prayer and fasting in Jesus Powerful Name. Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.

Word for Today: Fear Not, for I am with thee.

LWord for Today:

Fear Not, for I am with thee!

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:1-2).

Beloved

The Almighty God is speaking emphatically to you today and is telling you: Fear Not.
In numerous verses of the bible, you will find the Almighty God, our All Sufficient Father speaking to us with same words-fear not.

Fear is the major weapon the enemy uses. When your enemies want to trap you, they will first put fear into you. How do you reconcile the fact the same God who has repeatedly asked us to ‘fear not’, turns around and asked us to fear HIM, in order to start getting wisdom?
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).
It does not seem easy to understand. The truth is that what you fear most comes upon you and controls you. Most people have cancer because of their fear of having cancer. Same goes for having an accident and indeed any other thing. If you sufficiently fear God in Christ Jesus, the Spirit of God comes upon you, takes over you , and controls you. If you sufficiently fear God, there are so many things you will never contemplate of doing. Job exclaimed:
“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3:25).
God is telling you: Fear Not, for I am with you!
The same God is also telling you, the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. If you truly fear God, you have nothing else to fear.

Beloved, fear God in Christ Jesus and be wise.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Dear Father, please give us the grace to fear YOU sufficiently in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.

Word for Today: You are to manifest the fruit of the Spirit

Word for Today: You are to manifest the fruit of the Spirit .

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22-25).

Beloved

Live your life daily to reflect the glory of God. You have been recreated in Christ Jesus to reflect God’s glory ( Isaiah 43:7).
You will notice that our memory verses list ‘ long suffering’ among the ‘ fruit of the Spirit ‘. You will also notice that the fruit is not pluralised. Your life on earth should reflect all the fruit of the Spirit of God for people around you to experience and enjoy: love, joy, peace, rejoicing in long suffering etc. Please, do not ignore gentleness, meekness and temperance .

Grace and peace be multiplied to you (2Peter 1:2)

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Dear Father, please fill us with the fruit of your Spirit in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.

Word for Today: Your Life Experiences work together for your good.

Word for Today: Your Life Experiences work together for your good.

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” ( Romans 8:28).
Beloved

Do you know that the trials and challenges you go through in life are for own good? Have faith in the word of God. For example, before Joseph became a Prime Minister in Egypt, he needed to pass through the ‘pit’ and ‘prison’. The secret of his victory was his faith in the God of righteousness and having the right attitude.
Many Christians may not know that the man who wrote about two third of the New Testament, apostle Paul, wrote a large chunk of it while in prison. Instead of grumbling and murmuring, he persevered and maintained the right attitude. Here Him:
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body”(2Corinthians 4:8-10)
What about Jesus Christ Himself? Can you imagine what he went through on earth? Have ever wondered why there is a mixture of love, joy, peace, long suffering etc within the fruit of the Spirit? ( Galatians 5:22).
Henceforth, no matter what you going through, no more grumbling. No more complaining (Numbers 14:28). Rather, focus on the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Your prosperity is around the corner:

“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant” ( Psalm 35:27).

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for making our life experiences to work together for our own good in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.
