If you love me-by Joan Orok

If I ask you; do you love me? Of course  you will say yes! but how can you prove your proclamation?
Ever wondered why Jesus asked Peter even up to three times if he (Peter) loved him? Remember when I asked if you loved me What was your reply? I can guess… I think you said yes; guess what! That is exactly what Peter said.
If you truly love me, can you prove your love? Aside from me, if you say you love God can you prove it? The true test of love is in the response. In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus tells a parable of the servants to whom he gave talents and their proof of love and obedience to the master was in the multiplication of the talents wherein they were given.
God is not interested in our proclamation of love, rather he is interested in our acts of faith in response to his word. Then Jesus say’s “And why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46).
“If you love me, keep my commandment” If you say you love God, then prove your love by believing his word without doubt and also acting accordingly. How far can you go to keep his word? Your believing is not enough until you act it. God knows his children that showers them back by blessing them immensely even in ways untold. He says “I love those who love me” If you love God, never mind; because He sees all your acts of love towards the brethren, the ministry and the propagation of the gospel of Jesus.

Let us look a little further: Besides God, How about your pastor? Or the leader of any spiritual group you belong to. The bible says, God has given us apostles, evangelist, pastors, teachers for the perfecting of the saints. Meaning they are shepherds, and we are the sheep. A true sheep is a good follower, he follows without complain, any of our leader is our shepherd, for to prove your love is to follow. If you say you love; how far can you go in ensuring that the instruction given by your leader is carried out? that is the true test of love! The extent you can go in ensuring that your leaders instruction is obeyed and accomplished is the extent of your love. “Be not deceived God is not mocked…” (Gal. 6:7).

The only way to show our true love as disciples is by “doing” however, the “doing is not only applicable to the God, but also to your pastor, co-ordinator, sunday-school teacher, MOW leader, choir director or any one delegated to head of any Christians  group or organisation that you belong to. If you cannot obey and follow the instructions  of your leader here on earth how then can you obey God in heaven which you do not see. Watch out for a Christians who cannot follow after the instructions of his or her spiritual leader or pastor then you will see a man who cannot obey God.
Don’t be deceived if you are always looking down on the instruction of your leader, so would you treat Gods instructions.

Remember if you ever love me… I need prove … That prove is keep my commandment. i.e do my words.
“But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone.” (Gal. 6:4)

Anointing (5): Be aware of Negative Anointing.

Word for Today
Anointing (5)-Be aware of Negative anointing.

Do you know that one can be anointed negatively for evil? Anger is a common example of demonic anointing. Do you get angry easily? Please, bind such spirit in yourself with the power of God ( Matthew 18:18).
Many people have lost their destinies in life to anger. The Word says: “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools” (Eccl 7:9).
Grace & peace be multiplied to you… in Jesus name (2Peter 1:2). Amen.

WHAT COUNTS-by Rev A Akpan

“Yea doubtless, I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them as dung, that I may win Christ “(Phil. 3:8)
A friend of mine who is also a pioneer pastor in Aba, Abia State of Nigeria visited me sometime ago and requested that I should accompany him to see a friend of his who’s been of tremendous support to him in the ministry. I had heard so much about the brother so I decided to go with him so I can use that opportunity to appreciate him for his love for the kingdom and for his encouragement to my friend in the ministry. I was meeting him for the first time. So after the introduction, I began to thank him for all he’s been doing to help my friend fulfill his calling.
Surprisingly, the brother just smiled and asked “What matters?” He didn’t say anything else. I was deeply touched by that statement. And in response, I said to him “I wish all Christians have the same understanding you have about the kingdom”. Majority of today’s Christians are more Church minded, rather than being kingdom minded. They talk much about “our Church” than the kingdom of God.
By that question, what he implied was “what is more important in life than to serve God with whatever he blesses us with?”, What gives fulfilment in life than to help others fulfill their purpose in life?, He was asking: “what counts in life than to live for the cause of the kingdom?”
That brother understands that there’s nothing one has that he didn’t receive (1Cor. 4:7). He understands that it is God who gives the power to get wealth (Deutr. 8:18), and that it is for the purpose of advancing His kingdom.
A foremost Missionary statesman, Oswald J. Smith once said “It is not how much of my money, but how much of God’s money that I keep for myself” Every heaven conscious believer knows that he or she is only a custodian of whatever God entrusts him or her with, and that everything he or she owns belongs to God.
King Solomon the preacher, the wisest, and the richest man that ever lived counsels thus “Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there’s no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave where you are going” (Ecl.9:10).
Finally, that brother understands that what counts in life is what we do for God and His kingdom while still alive. That should be the understanding of every one that is looking forward to meet with Jesus someday.
