Memory Verse

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock” (Luke 6:46-48).

Beloved

The word of God should be practised daily if we expect God’s word to bring changes to our lives. The word of God should not merely be read or studied or meditated upon but rather put into practice daily .
It’s doing the word of God that brings positive changes. For example, the word of God says righteousness exalts a nation/person ( Proverbs 14:34). It’s therefore your responsibility to love righteousness and hate sin, if you want to be exalted. Righteousness is the nature of God. God will not compromise on it.

The word of God says God calls those things that be NOT as if they were (Romans 4:17). When you listen to the speech of an average Christian, there is no doubt that many are not doing this word. They confess what they see with their physical eyes at the slightest opportunity.
As a child of God, you can speak speak light out of darkness, as God Himself did in Genesis 1:3.

Jesus said:

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? ” ( Luke 6:46)

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Father, give us the grace to do your word in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” ( Deuteronomy 30:19).

Beloved

The Almighty God is advising everyone of us in Christ Jesus, to choose life and live.
Life is the opposite of death , just as light is the opposite of darkness. In my recent spiritual message, one of my spiritual daughters acknowledged that she did not know ‘poverty’ and ‘laziness’ are works of darkness. In Christ Jesus, may God give every one of us increasing spiritual understanding in Jesus name. Amen.
In Christ, God hates all the agents of darkness. Ignorance, fear , anxiety, laziness, failure, poverty, disunity etc, can lead to death, hence are agents of darkness and works of the devil. Demons, evil spirits, doubt, unbelief, diseases etc are agents of death. Jesus came that we may have life to the fullest, not merely a small measure of life. Jesus said : ” I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b).
According to Isaiah 54:14, unrighteousness leads to oppression . Every act of unrighteousness is evil, and prevents us from being established. How can you say you are a child of God but you are NOT able to SPEAK the language of your Father( the word of God).
Yes, choose life and live. In Him was life and that life was the light of men ( John 1:4).
The word of God says:
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19)

Choose light and live!

Prayer

Father, we receive the grace to embrace life and light in the word of God in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me” (Matthew 25:35-36).

Beloved

Every good thing you can do to every one you come across, please do it without delay or judging. There is really no time to waste when it comes to doing good to others. The anointing we have received from the Lord is for goodness; exactly the anointing He Himself received from the Father (Acts 10:38).

In our memory verses for Today, Jesus was speaking to those on His right hand . They could not recall when they saw Jesus hungry and gave him food or naked and clothed Him. Similarly, those on His left hand could not recall seeing Jesus hungry or thirsty or in need and refusing to attend to His needs (Matthew 25: 41-43)
Many of us discriminate so easily , especially if the person we are dealing with belongs to a different FAITH. Remember Saul before he became apostle Paul in Acts chapter 9.
In essence, the word of God is asking every one of us to be hospitable to everyone we come across as if we are meeting with JESUS. This can really create an opportunity for what some people have called ‘befriending evangelism’.
As we go about our daily duties, we should not forget to entertain strangers, for many have entertained angels unawares:

“Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Hebrews 13:1-2).

Prayer

Father, we pray that we shall never see you ( or anyone) in need without attending to you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God”

(1John 3:8-9).

Beloved
As a Christian, you are enrolled in the army of heaven. Our memory verse is reminding us that our master, the Lord of hosts and the Captain of the army of heaven came to this world to destroy the works of the devil.
As a soldier of the cross, have been working with your master to destroy the works of the devil where ever you find them? What are these works of the devil? As you go about your daily activities, you will find the works of the devil everywhere. Name them: lying, cheating, laziness, fear, poverty, manipulation, coldness, nonchalance , lukewarm attitude, sexual immorality etc , within the church and outside the church. How can we be Christians, yet there is so much sinning going on. Children of God talking, dressing, walking, dancing and behaving like the children of the world, yet we expect God to bless us. Whosoever is born of God does not sin because the seed of God is in him.
Enough of seeing evil activities around you and pretending that you have not seen.

Do not say ‘it no concerns me’, when your neighbour’s house is burning. Speak the word of God against all evils around you. Speak the blood of Jesus against them. That is the way to overcome the devil:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Revelations 12:11).

Prayer

Father, please give us the grace and wisdom we need to work in agreement with you to destroy the works of devil in

Jesus mighty name. Amen.
