Memory Verse 

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.” Psalms 119:9-19 KJV

Beloved 

Let us learn from the Psalmist and treasure the word of God above all things. Let’s us learn to meditate on the word of God and hide the word of God in our heart daily. 
The word of God in our hearts will shine the light we need and keep us away from doing things that are contrary to the nature of God. Whether we believe it or not, everyone needs the word of God. In particular, we need to teach our children the word of God, if we expect them to be victorious in this world with wickedness everywhere.

With the word of God we are safe. With the word of God , our victory is guaranteed. With the word of God all our needs are supplied and much more. The Word of God provides the spiritual light we need to negotiate a dark world:

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalms 119:130 KJV

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Father, please, give us the grace to develop passion for your word in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21).
Beloved 

Happy weekend to every reader of the Word for Today.
Henceforth, please, be careful with the words that you speak. This can only be possible if you are sensitive and careful with your thoughts. The words you speak out daily are derivable from your thoughts, which in turn flow from the abundance of your heart ( Matthew 12:34).
When you listen to the words of many Christians, you have no doubt that they are ignorant of the spiritual aspects of Christianity. Many people destroy themselves, their families, friends, their nations by the words they speak, albeit out of ignorance. You can learn to speak living words by retraining your tongue. 
You can learn to speak living words by enriching your heart with the word of God in Christ Jesus ( Colossians 3:16).
Yes, death and life are in the power of the tongue. Make good use of the mouth and wisdom Jesus has given you. He says:

“For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist” ( Luke 21:15).

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Father, please, give us the grace to speak living words by making good use of our mouth and wisdom in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

The greatest commandment!

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:36-40).

Beloved 

In as much as we should not ignore the Ten Commandments, it is instructive to know that Jesus Christ in accordance with the grace, wisdom and power granted to Him by His Father, reviewed the whole law and prophets into two: love for God and love for man, as per our memory verses.
While Jesus was on earth, He was constantly challenged by people who erroneously reasoned that He was breaking the law. No one individual or spiritual group (s) should try to diminish the GRACE of God in Christ Jesus. At one point, Jesus explained things to the doubters:
“And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days….” (Matthew 12:10-14).

The Ten Commandments and the prophets are hinged on loving God in Christ Jesus, and loving man, no more, no less. Jesus is the fulfilment of the whole law( Matthew 5:17).
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature …”(2Corinthians 5:17)

The Blood of Jesus!

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1John 1:7).

Beloved 

There is power mighty in the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin. It cleanses us from all unrighteousness . The blood of Jesus set us free. The blood of Jesus delivers us and purifies us. The blood of Jesus speaks for us when we don’t know what to say.
Yes, we overcome the devil and his cohorts with the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimonies. One phrase the devil can NOT withstand is the ‘ blood of Jesus ‘.

On a daily basis, never ignore to plead the blood of Jesus over your life, your family, your friends, your place of work, your communities, your nations, the church or even your enemies.

There is power in the blood of Jesus:
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Revelations 12:11).
