“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12 KJV
Beloved
Light and darkness should not naturally co-exist. At the appearance of light, darkness disappears. The Word of God ( Jesus Christ) is the light of the world. In Him, there is no trace of darkness at all. The only occasion you find darkness existing with light is if the light is not is not bright enough. This why the Word says:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
If any man truly be in Christ, he is a brand new person. However, there are battles the person has to fight and win. These include war against the flesh, war against sin, war against the world as well as war against the devil. Unfortunately, most Christians move about without the consciousness that Christianity is a spiritual warfare. It’s amazing how many Christians are driven by the world with regard to their lifestyles. The main reason for this in my opinion, is insufficient exposure to the source of true light. The Psalmist said:
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” (Psalm 119:130).
The extent that your light will shine is the extent you sincerely and diligently expose yourself to the word of God. Yes, if any man be in Christ, he is recreated anew in Christ Jesus.
There is only ONE source of true light, Jesus Christ, the Word. He said:
“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5). He Himself extended this light to all those who truly follow him, by declaring to us:
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14).
To win the war of life, every believer requires empowerment of the Holy Spirit. This has been freely assured every true believer:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
To spiritually grow daily, ensure you stay with the Word (bible). Read, study, meditate, value, ‘eat’, share and promote the word of God daily. Refuse to be distracted. God bless you as you do.
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1John 1:5).
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).
PRAYER:
There is someone reading this message , receive abundant grace NOW to be the light of the world in Jesus precious name. Amen!
Father, we pray that righteousness be established in your church; let the FIRE of Holy Ghost continue to be rekindled in our different nations all over the world in Jesus precious name. Amen.
Please Father, in your POWER continue to expose every act of hypocrisy, pretence and evil in our societies and bring the perpetrators to shame in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
