Theme: Be Conscious of the Spirit of God in you.

Memory Verse:

” Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21)

Beloved

We praise God for His love, grace and mercy for humanity. In Christ, God is omnipresent. He is present everywhere at all times. Only the living God in Christ has this divine attribute. If we allow Him to, He is present in our hearts, cars, houses, communities and nations. Believers often travel long distances to search for God in Christ. The truth is , if Christ is well formed in your heart (Gal 4:19), then be sure you carry God within you.

When Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, He responded: “the kingdom of God is within you”(Luk 17:21). His answer is loaded with meaning. The Bible says our body is the living temple of God, hence we ought to keep it holy. According to apostle Paul: “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (1Cor 6:19). He then added: ” For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”(1Cor 6:20).

In Christ, we need this God’s consciousness in our daily walk with Him. Once, we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, then the true God dwells in us. This is why apostle John declares : “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). This is why Brother Paul declares: “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27).This why the Psalmist declares: ” I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psalm 82:6). There are many passages in the word of God from the old to the New Testament, declaring our divine nature and oneness with God in Christ Jesus.

Once, you have received Jesus Christ into your heart, there is the need for you to grow in grace and knowledge that is in Christ Jesus, to enable Christ to be well formed in you. The plan of God is to manifest all true believers as sons of God on earth, as revealed by Brother Paul: “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God”(Rom 8:19).

God is a Spirit (John 4:24). The Holy Spirit of God will not dwell in a vessel (body) that is impure. The Spirit of God is a spirit of righteousness. What is that habit or attitude that you secretly hold unto, which you know very well does not glorify God in your life. You may call it any name, but if it does not bring glory to God, please drop it NOW. Is it procrastination? Is it laziness? Is it miserliness? Is it sleeping too much? Is it impure thoughts? Is it poverty of ideas? Is it speaking unedifying words. As a Spirit, God has ears, feelings, eyes etc. As you have spoken to His ears, so he will do for you (Numbers 14:28). The Holy Spirit cannot withstand imperfection, hence the Word says: “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity” (Habakkuk 1:13).

To conclude, in order to optimise your work and walk with God in Christ on earth, you need to carry that consciousness that the kingdom God is within you. The kingdom of Christ is a kingdom of power, wisdom, righteousness, boldness, transparency, hard work, integrity, truth, care, comfort, peace, light etc. In your walk with God, always remember God does not compromise on humility and contrite heart: “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Isa 57:15).

The words of God are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). Meditate on the word of God day and night and be transformed.

 Have a Spirit-filled week.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). However, the first thing you must desire greatly is total spiritual freedom through the truth in the word of God ( John 8:32, 36). Thereafter, ask God for sanctification by the truth in His word ( John 17:17).

Prayer:

Father, give me the grace to be conscious of your Holy Spirit in me at all times in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
