Word for Today: God is Love.

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (1John 4:8).
Beloved

God is love. Without God, there can be no true love. No human being can love exactly like God. However, if a man has the Spirit of God in great measure, he can demonstrate visible love on earth. Jesus Christ was an embodiment of God’s love on earth. Two scriptures clearly revealed God’s love:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not” (1John 3:1)
We can see from the above two scriptures that due to immense love, God the Father gave his beloved Son, Jesus Christ to die for us that we should become sons of God. Hallelujah! What a measure of love.
Apostle Paul gave us an extraordinary insight into the nature of God’s love. Please permit me to quote the NIV version of the bible:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” ( 1Corinthians 13:4-13)
Love is greater than everything else! Love is greater than FAITH. Love is greater than HOPE.
To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer

Dear Father, please reveal your love to us in details and help us to love in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Yours in the Vineyard of Christ.

Understanding True Spirituality

Theme:

Utilize every single opportunity!

Memory Verse:

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”

(Isa.55:6).

Beloved,

It is imperative to know about the carnal work exhibited by some folks in the body of Christ.
Some of these works exist in the sub-conscious minds therefore makes it difficult to be identified or understood by the victim.
Hence, the bible maintains thus:

“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil vines: for our vines have tender grapes”

The only spiritual instrument that can be used to diagnose them is MEDITATION!

(Joshua 1:8).
So many Christians work with God at distance, or at will.
But the anchor scripture says we should seek Him (God), while He may be found.
This also makes me to understand that, at times God is far from us base on our relationship with Him.
So many times, many believers in Christ Jesus don’t pay attention to the word of God at their disposal: they only recognize they have bible when it is time for service or fellowship.
This ought not to be so. Hence, the preacher asserted thus:

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them”

(Eccl.12:1).

Beloveth, the time to seek God is now.

Tomorrow may be too late.
Prayer:

Father, we ask for your grace to know more of you, and to find you early in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Happy and fruitful weekend!

Word for Today: Miracle working God.

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verses

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen” ( Mark 16:17-20)

Beloved

In Christ Jesus, our God is a miracle working God. We can see from our memory verses that miracles are confirmation of God’s words in the life of a believer. Miracles are for all those who believe and not for a few. Miracles are not magic.
We have evidence in the bible that we have a God who:

Made a virgin to conceive and have a son;
Made a 90 year old woman to be conceived and have a son;
Made scattered dried bones to come back to live and become a great army;
Sealed the lions mouth such that they could not harm Daniel in the lion’s den;
Appeared as 4th man on fire and preserved the three Hebrew Jews etc.
The entire bible is a manifestation of the miracles of God in Christ Jesus.

To be a partaker of these signs and wonders, we have to embrace purity, holiness and keep our focus on Jesus, the Word of God: “Looking unto Jesus…”(Heb 12:2). While on earth, on account of his total cleaving to his Father, Jesus was an embodiment of signs and wonders. He promised all those who will follow him and put their trust in him of greater works (John 14:12).

We have received empowerment from the Holy Spirit to raise the dead, heal the sick, set the captives free and turn many into righteousness. The Word says:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit, called anointing, please ask for it. Every believer requires anointing. Jesus himself was anointed:
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (Acts 10:38).
Christianity without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, will be extremely difficult. It is wisdom to lead others to righteousness. The power of the Holy Spirit makes you a star on earth.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever (Dan 12:3).

Prayer

Dear Father, please confirm your words in our lives and use us for signs and wonders in your kingdom in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
