The Word (69)-Be conscious of your words.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (69)-Be conscious of your words.

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (Ephesians 4:29).

Beloved

Always be sensitive to the word that comes out of your mouth. The words you speak is a reflection of your thoughts. There are some brothers and sisters in the body of Christ who are so used to talking that they often talk before they think. Let the word you speak be edifying to others.
The Word desires that you retrain your thoughts and align them to His. His thoughts are higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).
What you focus your mind and thoughts predominantly tend to shape your personality. The Word is admonishing you to focus your thoughts only on GOOD things:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Phil 4:8).

PRAYER

Father, please help me to refine & purify my words in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (68)-let the Word be your Counselor.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (68)-let the Word be your counsellor.

“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14)
Beloved

Be very care where you take your counsel from. Many people get counsel from different sources such as newspapers, television, radio as well as counsellors without the Word.
In this new month of double grace, let the Word provide all the counsel you need. Heaven & earth shall pass away, but the word of God shall never pass away.
Henceforth, be totally dependent on the Word. There is a word in the Word for every situation your are facing:
“They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever” (Psalm 125:1-2).

PRAYER

Father, please help me to take counsel only from your Word in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

Happy New Month!

Beloved
Happy New Month of October 2016. For us Nigerians, I wish everyone of us a happy Independence Celebration. Please, let’s give thanks to God in Christ Jesus (1Thessalonians 5:18). The LORD is your strength in all you go through:
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen”

(1Peter 5:10-11).
Amen & Amen

The Word (67)-Love(charity) is above all.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (67)-Love (charity) is above all.

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity ” (1Corinthians 13:13).

Beloved

Love is a powerful attribute . It’s often said that love makes the world go round. Love is not merely the act of giving. Love may not be easily defined or explained. As important as faith and hope are in Christianity, love is greater than both of them. Apostle Paul by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit would rather explained love with negative attributes: “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil” (1Corithians 13:4-5)

It’s interesting to note that we can give ALL our goods to feed the poor and even sacrifice our body, but still NOT have love (verse 3). No doubt, love can not be easily defined or understood . No wonder, the Word says: ‘God is love’ (1John 4:8).

There are many ministers of God today who believe all they should do is preach the gospel in the comfort of their rooms or churches, while the rich brothers should regularly ‘sow seed’ into their lives to sustain them. Some would even quote the bible to justify why they should be given. What about prophet Elisha who REJECTED compensations or appreciation from captain Naaman after God used him to cure him(Naaman)-2Kings 5. Why is it that some ministers of God in our days appear eager to be appreciated after God has used them? Laziness is NOT the nature of the true God. I have read in my bible that he who does not work should not eat:

“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat” (2Thess 3:10).
Apostle Paul who wrote about two third of the New Testament was himself a tent maker. You can work and earn money while preaching the gospel. Love is a lot more than giving material or physical gifts to others, though giving is a component of love.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to understand the true nature of your love in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (66)-you do NOT have to remain poor.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (66)-you do not have to remain poor.

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2Corinthians 8:9).

Beloved

It is a great opportunity to be a Christian. It is a privilege to be saved. It is by grace that we are saved. If you are a Christian, you have no acceptable reason to be poor.
According to our Word for today, Jesus Christ gave His riches to everyone who believes in Him. Mere knowledge of the scripture is NOT enough. You have to put the word of God into practice and let Him work for you. The earth and its fullness belong to the Lord(Psalm 24:1).
Prayer is putting God at work. Sow and ye shall reap. Indeed, we reap what we sow. If you sow nothing, you reap nothing, except you steal it. Christianity is not mere talk or writing. It is field work. It is hard work indeed:
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22).

PRAYER

Father, please help me to understand your riches in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (65)-the Word is the light of the world.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (65)-the Word is the light of the world.

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5)

Beloved

The Word of God is the light of this world. Without the Word of God, you go through this world in darkness. In darkness, your best friend could give you a slap without you knowing. In darkness, you experience agents of darkness and are prone to stagnation, diseases, frustration and hopelessness . With the Word, you have light:
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” (Psalm 119:130)

Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus is the light of this world. Jesus declared:
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14).

PRAYER

Father, please help me to experience the light in your Word in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The Word (64)-only the Word can make you free indeed.

MOW-True Spirituality

Word for Today

The Word (64)-only the Word can make you free indeed.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36)

Beloved

Only the Word of God can make a person free indeed. Many people are in bondage but unfortunately they don’t know it. The bible says:

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Jesus Christ is the truth, the way and the life ( John 14:6). We are sanctified by the truth ( John 17:17).

Ignorance is a form of bondage. There are many people in the body of Christ who are in the bondage of ignorance. Unfortunately, they are ignorant of being in bondage of ignorance. Only constant meditation and exposure to the word of God can generates divine knowledge that make a person free indeed. Freedom indeed is by choice. Complete freedom is like a dream:

“When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad” (Psalm 126:1-3)

PRAYER

Father, please make me free indeed by the power in your Word in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
