Improving Our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;).Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2Corinthians 10:4-5).

Dearly Beloved

The word of God says Jesus came to earth to destroy the works of the devil (1John 3:8).

Whether you believe me or not, life is a battle. Everyone fights the various battles of life, whether you believe in God or not.

Unfortunately, some believers are under the impression that once you have given your life to Christ, they don’t need to do anything. Jesus will do everything because of grace. This is absolute spiritual ignorance. In life, you sow before you reap. The Scripture says: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge(Hosea 4:6).

As spiritual Christians, let us go about our duties daily with the consciousness of the fact we are at war at all times-at our places of work, in the church, in our families, in our ministries, within our communities etc. We must also be conscious of the fact the war we are called to fight is spiritual, not physical. “For we wrestles not against flesh and blood” (Ephesians 6:12). Hence, “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..”(2Cor 10:4).

Every true believer is a soldier of the cross. Jesus is the Captain of the army of heaven. He rides in a white horse. His names include: Truth, Faithful Righteousness (Rev 19:11). and the Word of God (verse 13). He wages war with sword from his mouth: “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword…” (Rev 19:15).

The weapons of our warfare are the words of our mouth!

Brethren, we are at war. But it is a spiritual war. It is a war between light and darkness. It’s a war between positivity and negativity. It is a war between good and evil. It is a war between right and wrong. It’s a war between truth and lies. It is a war between perfection and imperfection. It is a war against ignorance and sin. It is a war against all forms of captivity and oppressions. It is a war against poverty and all forms of bondage. It is a war against sicknesses and diseases. It is a war against accident. It is a war against untimely death. It is a war against seduction and manipulation. It is a war against anxiety, fear, doubt, and unbelief. It is a war against unfaithfulness and insincerity. It is a war against laziness and idleness. It is a war against pretence and hypocrisy. It is a war against coldness and lukewarmness. It is a war against falsehood, gossiping, hatred, unforgiveness and lies. It is a war against wickedness, in all forms. It is a war against Satan, devils, demons and their cohorts. It is a war in defence of truth, openness, righteousness, honesty, integrity, transparency, divine health etc. Our Captain, Jesus Christ, is in charge. Let us follow his examples. His name is Righteousness! His name is Truth. His name is Faithful.

Apostle Paul charged his spiritual son, Timothy, to war a good warfare:

“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare” (1Tim 1:18).

Stay connected to JESUS our captain, also called the Word . Be knowledgeable. Seek wisdom . Be enlightened.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

To grow spiritually requires daily meditation with the word of God (Joshua 1:8) and seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). It also requires total fear of God, and spiritual training in the word of God: “Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

Prayer Point

Dear Father, please give us the grace to war a good warfare against all forms of darkness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Blood of Jesus. Blood of Jesus.

Thank you Jesus for teaching us spiritual warfare.

Happy Sunday beloved .

Word for Today : The former things are passed away.

The former things are passed away.

Improving Our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful ” (Revelation 21:5).

Dearly Beloved

The Word of God is  supernatural. The Word of God is not ordinary. The Word of God is extraordinary. The Word of God has promised us  a New Thing, but we need Understanding to key into the new thing.  How can you expect a change if you keep doing exactly the same thing for years? Change comes through using different approaches, doing something different , applying a different attitude etc. The promise of a new thing is real. Write it down. See also prophecy of Isaiah 43:19.

The word of God says:

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” ( Isaiah 1:19).

If you are truly born again ( John 3:3,5), start learning to align your thoughts, words and actions with that of the Living God in Christ Jesus. God has the best thoughts and plans for us ( Jeremiah 29:11). His thoughts and ways are not comparable to ours ( Isaiah 55:8-9).

On a daily basis, never you set out for the day without appreciating God and having one or two verses in the word of God to guide you and shine His light upon you. Remember, the entrance of the word of God into your heart and spirit gives light and understanding ( Psalm 119:130). Without the word of God, you walk in darkness even during the day.

Remember, that we have individual responsibility to key into the NEW THING God is  doing for us.  You have to desire and expect transformation for it to happen. The word of God says:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” ( Romans 12:2).

Human ears will find it difficult to believe or understand the works of God through mortal men:

“Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you” (Habakkuk 1:5).

Be compassionate and kind to one another.

Prayer Point

Dear Father, we pray for everyone sincerely connected to your Word, that he or she will experience the NEW THING you have promised us in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Blood of Jesus. Blood of Jesus.

Thank you Father for the new thing you are doing in the life of everyone sincerely connected to your Word. Amen.

Happy weekend.

Word for Today: Learn from your challenges.

Word for Today:

Learn from your challenges.

Ministry Of the the Word (MOW):True Spirituality (TS).

Improving Our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verse

“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered”(Heb 5:8).

Dearly Beloved

Let’s emulate Jesus and LEARN from our challenges. The trials and challenges we go through are for our learning. As the beloved Son of God, the bible says Jesus himself learned through what He suffered.

There are Christians who know very little about Jesus. Christianity without Jesus Christ is an empty religion. He is the Word of God. He is a Spirit. He was with God in the beginning and He is God (John 1:1). All things were created by Him for himself (Colossians 1:16).

Some seemingly hard teachings from the Word:

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matt 5:44);

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matt 7:12);

It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35);

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth” (Prov 11:24);

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head” (Rm 12:20);

Beloved, only true learning can bring us to a perfect state of obedience to the Word. It does not come easily . No wonder Saint James admonished us:

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” ( James 1:2-4).

How easy is it for you to rejoice when faced with challenges. Only the grace of God(Jesus) can accomplish it.

Stay connected to JESUS, the Word . Be knowledgeable. Be wise. Be enlightened. Align your thoughts to His (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Stay Active!

Keep your thoughts & mind positive/ healthy.

Ensure you think no evil against anyone.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Be compassionate, merciful and kind to one another.

Good morning my beloved.

Prayer Point

Dear Father, please fill us with your Holy Spirit and give us the grace to pay attention to your teachings , in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Word for Today: Let the mind of Christ be in you.

Word for Today:

Let the mind of Christ be in you.

Ministry Of the Word (MOW): True Spirituality (TS).

Improving our Spiritual Understanding

Memory Verses

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:5-9).

Dearly Beloved

Let’s make every effort to have the mind of Jesus Christ. A mind filled with knowledge, wisdom, understanding and power. A mind filled with humility.

The bible says though He was God(the Son), and has been given all powers, He never claimed equality with His Father. Lack of humility has deprived many believers of their blessings. In my few years of walking with the Lord, I have seen lack of humility and arrogance among many people in the church, even those with big titles. I mean, people considering themselves more highly than they should do. There is nothing we have, that we did not receive from above. Without the grace of God, we are nothing.

Let us learn humility as we go about our daily duties. Let us be humble within our families, communities , ministries, work places etc. The more we humble ourselves, the more we are exalted by God Himself. Let us learn from Jesus Christ, who washed the feet of His disciples.

“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1Corinthians 2:16)

Stay connected to JESUS, the Word . Be knowledgeable. Be wise. Be enlightened. Align your thoughts to His (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Keep your thoughts & mind positive/ healthy.

Ensure you think no evil against anyone.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Be compassionate, merciful and kind to one another.

Have a blessed new day.

Prayer Point

Dear Father, please reveal the mind of Christ to us more and more. Please, help us to have the mind of Christ in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Blood of Jesus. Blood of Jesus.

Thank you Father for the grace to have the mind of Christ.
